Straight Arrow Consulting, the consulting business of Tom Montzka, is a firm that specializes in market analysis, supply chain management, process improvement, due diligence support, coaching and facilitation, and project management. Among its services, Straight Arrow Consulting, in cooperation with Huebschmann & Associates within our joint venture Delphi Advisors, provides regular short-term stumpage market forecasts to the SE US timber and forest products industry through Forest2Market ("4Cast"). Other clients include ENGOs, public organizations, financial institutions, timberland owners, and forest product companies addressing timber market geographies across the United States.
Straight Arrow Consulting works collaboratively within a network of other resource professionals as a "virtual corporation" allowing it and affiliated colleagues to economically deliver high quality work customized to client needs.
Prior to starting Straight Arrow Consulting Tom held a variety of positions within Boise Cascade, As an executive at Boise Cascade he managed the corporation's timberland planning program specializing in company harvest schedule planning, market analysis, and competitive assessment of primary manufacturing facilities in timber markets throughout the western hemisphere. He played instrumental roles related to third-party forest stewardship programs, experimental ecosystem and landscape management programs, and implementing intensive silviculture including fiber farming.
Tom holds a B.S. (Forestry) and an M.S. (Forest Management) from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the Society of American Foresters, the Forest Products Society, and the Project Management Institute.
